Knysna Fires June 2017

During the past two weeks, the Garden Route in the Cape Province has been ravished by blazing, uncontrollable fires. We have seen the news clips of these fires destroying lives of many, in an instant, leaving all people from South Africa destitute and desperate.

After listening to the news on a local radio station in Port Elizabeth about the fires in Knysna and the devestation it had caused, Marie Louise Nortier from our Sizabantu PE Division, decided to take matters into her own hands. She immediately called on her friends and associates to assist in collecting food, water and blankets for those affected by this disaster. Marie Louise managed to fill up an 8 ton truck with goods donated generously by the communities in and around her area, as well as the Sizabantu Divisions. The goods were sent off and one can only hope that it had made a difference in someone’s life. These tiny initiatives, that have such a huge impact on people’s lives is why we are forever, PROUDLY SIZABNTU.

Well done Marie Louise, you truly are an ambassador for what Sizabantu stands for.
