TOM500 Orientated PVC pipe (PVC-O)
TOM500 PVC-O | SANS 16422 Manufactured to SANS specification, TOM500 PVC-O incorporates the latest technology available to produce a product that has unbeatable impact and fatigue resistance, for use on Bulk Water and high pressure pipelines.
TOM500® PVC-O pipes are the most advanced pipes for the conveyance of high-pressure water currently available on the market, with a number of exceptional features for this kind of application, thanks to the process of molecular orientation. PVC is essentially an amorphous polymer in which the molecules are located randomly. However, under certain conditions of pressure, temperature and speed, by stretching the material, it is possible to orient the polymer molecules in the same direction as which the material has been stretched. Depending on the process parameters used and mostly stretch ratio, a higher or lower orientation degree will be obtained. The result is a plastic with a layered structure which layers can be seen at a glance.
SizaTuff | MPVC
SIZATUFF MPVC | SANS 966-2 Manufactured to SANS specification, Sizatuff mPVC pipe offers a resilient and tough pipe, with predictable performance.
uPVC Pressure Pipe SABS 966 Part 1 and mPVC Pressure Pipes SABS 966 Part 2 may be specified with confidence for pumping mains and reticulation networks. They have, for many years, been successfully Applied in civil, effluent, purification, irrigation and industrial applications. uPVC and mPVC pressure pipes are manufactured to, and carry the SABS Mark for SABS 966 Parts 1 and 2 respectively. Customers are therefore assured of consistently high quality pipes manufactured in an ISO 9001 accredited factory with a design life of 50 years and a substantial safety factor at the end of that period.
SizaFlo | UPVC
SIZAFLO UPVC | SANS 966-1 Manufactured to SANS specification, Sizaflo uPVC pipe is the tried and tested system for medium pressure reticulation pipelines.
uPVC Pressure Pipe SABS 966 Part 1 and mPVC Pressure Pipes SABS 966 Part 2 may be specified with confidence for pumping mains and reticulation networks. They have, for many years, been successfully Applied in civil, effluent, purification, irrigation and industrial applications. uPVC and mPVC pressure pipes are manufactured to, and carry the SABS Mark for SABS 966 Parts 1 and 2 respectively. PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
SIZABANTU PIPING SYSTEMS has a professional team of Engineers with a wealth of experience in Thermoplastics, and specifically PVC pipe. This team is available to Consulting Engineers and Design Engineers for advice, reference and confirmation of designs where PVC pipe has been specified.
Our team can also assist in suggesting alternatives to traditional materials considered for bulk water, pumping mainlines, reticulation pipelines and sewer pipelines. They will assist in the sizing of the pipeline, the correct material for the designed application, the hydraulic considerations, and any other aspects that may be relevant.
SIZABANTU PIPING SYSTEMS has a CPD accredited (by C E S A) presentation that attracts ½ CPD point. The presentation is approximately 90 minutes, and is focussed on TOM500 PVC-O, the benefits and the characteristics thereof. The presentation is normally free of charge, and can be arranged at any convenient venue, that will suit you.

Sizabantu Manufacturing | Richards Bay
In 2014, Sizabantu Piping Systems, together with Molecor Canalizaciones decided to for a Joint Venture and together, build a TOM500 PVC-O manufacturing facility in South Africa. This was the birth of Molecor South Africa (M S A), and the introduction of TOM500 PVC-O to Southern Africa. Whilst the planning was being done to build this state of the art manufacturing facility, Sizabantu Piping Systems decided to also include the manufacture of Sizatuff mPVC, Sizaflo uPVC and Sizadrain, PVC pipes. Thus Sizabantu Piping Systems Manufacturing (S P S M) was founded, manufacturing PVC pipe from 50mm up to 500mm diameters, in South Africa.
The innovative R300-million TOM500 Orientated PVC pipe (PVC-O) factory, the only one of its kind in Africa, was purposefully built in the Richard’s Bay Industrial Development Zone which consciously attracts investment and focusses on driving socio-economic development as a catalyst for job creation and foreign direct investment in South Africa. This project has seen substantial investment from our partners in Europe, as well as the creation of an additional 110 permanent jobs, as well the introduction of world class technology, not yet available in South Africa.
Some Background info
In 2013 Sizabantu was approached by Molecor Canalizaciones, a Spanish company and world-leader of Bi-axle PVC-O technology, to represent and market its products in Southern Africa. With the growing demand and potential for PVC-O, we entered into a joint venture with Molecor to establish the factory and all of our divisions consolidated their businesses into one entity – Sizabantu Piping Systems.
The Molecor South Africa factory attracted substantial foreign investment, both in monetary value and intellectual property, ensuring that South and Southern Africa now has access to a locally-manufactured, technologically-advanced product.
As the only factory of its kind on the African continent, we encourage site visits to witness the latest technology in thermo plastics.
